In the past, creating the batch report at Swissmill was a time-consuming and labor-intensive manual process. To collect and consolidate all relevant data, numerous employees had to be involved. This not only led to long processing times but also increased the risk of errors. In addition, customers often had to accept longer waiting times to receive the batch information that was critical for them.

With the introduction of the Autexis Digital Factory Q-Management module, these challenges are a thing of the past. The module automates the entire process and makes it possible to generate a complete batch report at the push of a button within just a few seconds. A user-friendly web interface is provided for this purpose, equipped with a search form. It supports various search criteria and allows results to be filtered by specific information. The results are presented in a clear list of deliveries, with a detailed view available for each delivery line item.

A particularly notable feature of the new system is the batch traceability report, which makes it possible to present all relevant batch data transparently. This report can either be printed as a PDF file or exported to Excel for further processing, providing additional flexibility in how the data is used.

To ensure seamless integration of the module, all relevant surrounding systems were fully integrated, including the SAP system, Bühler’s process control system, as well as a laboratory information system and a warehouse management system. The Digital Factory Q-Management Module 2.0 version is currently under development and will include additional improvements and extended functionality. With this new version, the efficiency of quality management at Swissmill will be further optimized.
