LeitsystemA control system featuring redundant application and communication servers for monitoring Zurich Main Station and 12 surrounding railway stations was implemented. 300 S7-300 controllers replaced the old Selectron and Siemens S5 systems. Over 14,000 data points were collected. Infrastructural facilities (65 lifts, 46 escalators, 56 lights, 60 drainage systems and 17 fire alarms) were managed/monitored and passengers were transported in stationary sections of the railway stations.
