Expandable process control system
A new tank farm for liquid raw materials such as chocolate and fats was implemented in the extension building, including the associated piping system for product intake and distribution lines to the consumers. Several existing buffer tanks and plant elements were relocated and had to be integrated into the new system. A modern control system was also required for the delivery and installation of this tank farm and the piping system. The control and visualization of the tank farm, as well as the path and dosing control, were intended to lay the foundation for an expandable process control system (PCS).
Conceptual planning with specifications
In order to determine the exact requirements, Autexis created a conceptual plan with a detailed functional specification during the start-up phase. All processes are visualized using the ProLeiT Plant Batch iT solution. Process visualization and operation take place on all clients. A comprehensive plant and function dashboard can be designed according to user requirements. Order lists can be created. All processes within the plant are controlled via process orders, meaning that a production order is created for each production run.
A batch matrix displays an online status overview of all running batches and their operations in a tabular format. A batch report is automatically stored in the database for every batch processed by the PCS.
In the PCS, recipes and process descriptions can be graphically created and assigned to the plant areas defined beforehand. The high requirements are controlled with a Simatic S7-400 CPU.
